| 1978 | Profile was founded by the late Jacques Schneider,
former head of training for The Savoy Group of Hotels. |
| Late ‘70s | Business in the early days was mainly with London Hotels and the
emerging Country House sector in the UK |
| Early ‘80s | Profile’s international reputation grew steadily through a
close association with many Leading Hotels of the World, International
hotel chains including InterContinental, Sheraton, Hilton, Mandarin
etc. and some of London’s finest restaurants |
| Mid ‘80s | Appointment of Mark Norris and Liz Hartstone, Directors of Profile
to this day. Our non-executive director, the late Douglas Barrington
OBE, was presented with a “lifetime achievement award”
by The Caterer and Hotelkeeper |
| 1989 | Expansion of the consultant team; Profile moved from its base in
Hampstead to larger offices in Belsize Park |
| 1993 | Profile opened its Paris office to focus on France and French speaking
countries, which continues to be led by Michele Alguacil, now MD Profile
France |
| 1997 | Launch of Profile’s Leisure & Spa Division, supported
by industry expert Lord Thurso. In the same year, the untimely death
of Jacques at the age of 51 with a memorial service attended by over
400 industry professionals from all around the world |
| 1999 | Launch of Profile’s virtual office in New York to enable improved
communication with our clients in the US |
| 2000 | www.pmsr.com established as Profile’s web domain (Profile
Management & Specialist Recruitment) |
| 2001 | Strategic alliance agreed with a well established search firm in
Sydney, to provide Profile with a gateway in Australia and South East
Asia. |
| 2002 | Management buyout, led by Mark Norris enabled Profile to remain
independently owned. Moved to new offices in Covent Garden, a few
minutes walk from Trafalgar Square. Launch of Profile Marketing Appointments
(PMA), a sister company headed by Rupert Sellers, MD to focus on Sales,
Marketing and PR assignments |
| 2003 | Continued investment in Profile’s IT infrastructure, led by
James Hey, continues to provide our consultant team with a highly
efficient search and selection system, with access to a candidate
base of over 20,000 people. James appointed a Director with responsibilities
for Finance, IT and Corporate strategy |
| 2004 | At Profile’s 2004 conference, Dorchester Group nominated “UK
Client of the year” and One&Only named “International
Client of the year” At the annual meeting of Preferred, Summit
& Sterling Hotels, the launch of Profile’s “Associates
and Business Partners” to provide a range of support services
including Training, Coaching and Human Resources Management, Measurement
and Quality Evaluation, Sales Evaluation and Development, Travel Content
Delivery, Valuation Services, Strategic Marketing advice, Web creation
and Graphic Design and a partnership for entry level in front office.

in business confidence and added services including Psychometric testing.
